Drawn from my own experiences as a child living through divorces, this piece addresses the symbolism and vanity of photos in our lives. The photos are often rearranged in a way, so to hold onto the image of ourselves, but wishing to erase certain people from our past, who we are know longer with. The cut or fold remains seen but never spoken, as often is the case with divorce & the personality of the person that has left the family. They leave only traits and memories behind.
It also highlights how the perception of a happy family life in a photograph when viewed, can in reality be often torn or swapped around, with ultimately the children being treated in the same manner.
